Panic

What concerned me the most about Matisyahu's tweet was the statement, "No more chassidic reggae superstar."

Is he leaving reggae? I made a point to develop a Jamaican accent when I sing, and if he leaves that I will be in a bit of a bind.

If anyone knows any further details, feel free to put me out of my worry.

Now that's a whole new twist. Didn't see that coming. :)

Haha! Hey, that's a life skill you learned.

You know how long it took me to pronounce "Struggla, me na give up" in the proper havara? He started this, he better stick to it.

Crap, that song is fun to sing. *Deep voice* "Struggala!". Yeah.

Most of his songs are fun to sing. Especially to see the scandalized looks of those who only listen to Maccabeats. This is the REAL song, dude, not the knock-off.

Not fun to sing. There's two many words squished into one single syllable. It's not possible for tongues like mine to actually formulate words that fast. And I do get practice talking.

Yesterday on the RCCS live auction event, Mendy Pellin did an awesome bit about mourning "the loss to the bearded world". Then he went over to guitarist Yitzchak Fuchs and asked to touch his beard. Crazy fun!

I'm a motormouth - it seems to be easier for me. I just blend all the words into one.

Y. Fuch's beard makes Matisyahu facial hair look amateurish. There's enough beard there to make up for at least 50 clean shaven men.

It's tricky because some of the songs are set to a slower tempo so you think "of course I can sing along" but then when it comes down to actually saying the words, it's like "whaoweahh?? what's he saying?"

I agree about the beard quantity. Mendy P. asked everyone to grow 1 extra hair to make up for the loss, but it's really unnecessary.

I research the lyrics. I read them while listening to the song. Often I'm going, "Oooooh, THAT's what he's saying." But he is still awesome. He's made me look up his lyrics, which is a neat trick.

Hah! Poor Mendy is really taking it to heart. Coming from a family of clean-shaven men(no beard even in the old country), I can't understand the fuss.
