"Did you ever go out with Bren Derlin?"
Bren was a really nice guy I went out with once. However, we had absolutely nothing in common besides being tall. Due to the aforementioned height, his name comes up often. According to many, our similarity in inches is sufficient reason for a future together.
"Yes, I have, he was really nice, but we had nothing to talk about. We spent the whole night smiling at each other."

She whips out her phone, tapping out a text to him as though I hadn't spoken. "That was a long time ago; he's grown up since then."
"But he was grown up then!"
"He'll do what I ask him," she continues to tap, ignoring my objections.
"But I—!"
She swats away my protests as though dealing with an annoyingly buzzing insect.
I was mortified, amongst other emotions, but thankfully the force of his lack of feeling echoed mine. He wrote back to her, firmly, that I was nice but we had nothing in common, that we spent the whole night smiling at each other.
She was rather deflated, and confessed that considering how her own daughter's marriage came about (she knew her spouse for years and didn't marry until her 30s) she supposes that one can't force things.

Did you already know Bren Derlin's name, or did you look it up for this post? The actual fake :) Bren Derlin that is, not the guy you went out with.
I admit I looked it up. Rebel fighters = good guy dates. Jabba's henchmen = bad.

Stormtroopers still have a special place in my heart. They are just so . . . clone-y. I really have to get me one of them armors.
I love that improv everywhere video. Also, that dude with the crocheted hats/beards is rather disturbing.
I knew it must have been a wookieepedia search for Bren Derlin. Great guy, though. He went on to have a starring role in "Cheers."
I guess once Hoth has been evacuated once, it isn't worth a revisit. Though Luke once did that and ended up fighting a bunch of wampas - including the one-armed creature he maimed in ESB.
Although I do love snow . . .
I always wished I owned a tauntaun during the crazy snow days (and weeks) in New York.
They're also cuddly on the inside!
Ya, you could just move your bed out of your room and put a tauntaun in instead. But you'd probably need to figure out a way to keep it from leaking too much.
