Maybelline Color Tattoo

Heavily advertised in Vogue is Maybelline's Color Tattoo, a supposedly 24-hour Eyeshadow.

It sounds positively ideal for Shabbos and Yontif, but most of the shades overdosed on the glitter. I don't do glitter. It's hard to find matte cosmetics in the drugstore.

However, with a little online scouring, I discovered that a universally flattering shade, Tough as Taupe, has a matte finish. It's a cream shadow, but some put on primer beneath anyway since on some skin types it creases.

Reviewers have noted that it sets very quickly, so blend swiftly after applying. If using fingers, use the ring finger and try not to tug the skin too much.
Many of the tutorials use Tough as Taupe as a base, adding other eyeshadows on top.

I always wondered how to get eye shadow to stick to my eyelids for longer than a few hours. Like after a wedding, the stuff is all congealed to one area (the crease) and I think that's a pity, especially when I use such gorgeous colors (http://rimmel.fashionstylist.com/rimmel-stir-it-up-cream-eyeshadow-trio.html).

My makeup person tells me that she applies something first, a toner. And it must have worked because when I got my makeup done by her for my vort, the eye shadow lasted for an entire day without shmushing up. Any idea what such a product might be? I don't know of any eye-shadow toners? :)

I covered this a while back in this post:

It's called shadow primer. Great stuff - I also had problems with my shadow quitting by simchos, and this keeps it on even over three days of Yontif! Right now I'm using Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and I think it's the best one I've tried so far.

I fiddled with the settings. Did it help?

Ah yes, now I see the link. Thanks. It's annoying to have to come to all the posts I commented on to see if it got replies, but now it's all good.
